Most offsites feel good on the day. Three weeks later the flipcharts are rolled up in a corner and the team is back to its old habits. We design and run leadership retreats in Dubai for teams that want their decisions to still matter a month later.
How we work
It starts with a conversation. With you, and usually with a few people on your team, about what has to be different when the retreat is over. We build the programme from there. There is no standard format and no slide deck.
What you will see in the room: cards on the floor, paper on the walls, people moving around. Low on tech, high on talking to each other.
If it helps, we stay involved afterwards with a few short check-ins, so the agreements survive the first busy month.
When teams usually call us
Sometimes it is the yearly strategy offsite. Sometimes a new leader has joined, or two teams have merged, and people need to work out how they work together. Often it is a capable team where decisions keep stalling or getting reopened. Or you simply want to hear more than the same three voices in the room.
Where
In Dubai and across the UAE, at a venue that suits your group. We also work in the Netherlands and further afield. Over the years that has meant leadership teams from Bolivia to Kuwait to Singapore.
What we don’t do
We don’t run team-building activity days, and we are not keynote speakers. If you mainly need someone to organise the event, you want an event agency. We are happy to work alongside one.
Who you will work with
Govert van Sandwijk. Organisational psychologist, team coach and founder of Time To Grow Global, which he started in 2002. He wrote The Power of Professional Closeness and splits his time between Dubai and the Netherlands.
